Someone once said to me “don’t move until you’re happy where you are.” At the time I was contemplating an actual move, but those words continue to land with me in new ways. Are we choosing to leave somewhere or something simply because we’re ready?
So often I’ve thought I needed to hate something to have an excuse to walk away, and that’s just not the case. We can still have solace for where we are and choose to move forward. Something in us is pulling us in a new direction, and we can’t not go.
But sometimes the idea of leaving something means leaving who we once were. It’s too hard to bare the thought of being the one to make the choice to move on. Instead, we create a narrative that forces us away. We end up leaving because we have to instead of the simple fact that we want to.

As someone who has packed up my life and moved multiple times - this really resonates! What I've noticed is that where I live is so connected to who I am as a person. (And the ability to live in different places by choice, makes me, me). And naturally, as we shift and change and grow we also question if we're in the right place at the right time...
